If you are at least Year 8 at school and like the idea of national camps, trips overseas, field craft, experiences in flying, gliding, sport, adventurous training, drill, target shooting, and cyber skills, among others, why not come for a visit?
We seek to encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership, citizenship, working as a member of a team, enhance social skills, and embrace diversity. 2359 (Woolton) Squadron is attended by over 40 Cadets so there are so many new people for you to meet.
Woolton Air Cadets is not a recruitment organisation for the main RAF, so you can benefit from training and gain qualifications that will be useful for all career choices, both in and out of the RAF. The skills you can gain can help you with whatever you want to do in life.
Most of our Cadets join early in their secondary school careers and stay until they ‘age out’ at 20 years old. Some cadets stay on at Squadron as adult staff while many go on to have careers in the forces, but all use what they have learned and experienced in other walks of life and improve their prospects for university applications, apprenticeships, or employment.
There’s so much to do. At 2359 (Woolton) Squadron you can take part in squadron-based activities and take the opportunity for wider off-site experiences such as trips to Normandy, Duke of Edinburgh qualifications, flying and weapons training, and inter-squadron competitions.
There are so many interesting and exciting activities that go on at Woolton Air Cadets, we can’t possibly list them all here. The best thing to do is to watch the video and see for yourself, or check out the Gallery page..
When we receive your message, your parent/carer will be contacted by our Officer Commanding, Flight Lieutenant Whitfield, with more details about your visit and what to do next. We look forward to seeing you!
