Behind the scenes, it does take a fair bit of work from our volunteers and none are more committed, selfless, and compassionate than our commanding officer, Flight Lieutenant Phyll Whitfield.

Flt Lt Whitfield has led our Squadron from success to success over several years, building and growing Woolton Air Cadets. Her dedication has given cadets, from all walks of life, opportunities and development to help them soar in whatever career they pursue. Her “lead by example” approach has fostered a welcoming, exciting, and supportive squadron for cadets and staff alike.

We’re delighted Flt Lt Whitfield has been recognised for her substantial contribution to Liverpool’s young people and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, with her recent Lord Lieutenant’s Award for Meritorious Service.
